Startup Postmortem Nouncer, a microblogging service and technology provider was founded almost two years ago and recently came to an end. The service was meant to be the first microblogging site with strong focus on scalability, but as other sites reached the market faster, it evolved into a web service providing tools for others to build their own microblogging communities. There were many accomplishments during the process, but at the end, it was never able to materialize into a working company. While Nouncer did not accomplish its goal to bring a product to market, it offers a valuable lesson in starting a company, trying to build a team, and adjusting to the changing marketplace. Since we learn most from our mistakes, this session will go over the lessons learned and open a discussion about others can benefit from this experience.
